What studios do you work in?
I record wherever works best for each project. I mainly record on location and in local studios. If you are comfortable playing in your house or practice space and the acoustics are good, I can record you there. If you know of a great sounding room or a place with a piano or other instrument and we have permission from the owner, we can record there. I also have access to a gigantic warehouse in Danville, VA (1 hour north of Chapel Hill) that has a variety of different sounding rooms we can record in.

If your budget is bigger and you want to take advantage of some of the higher-end studios in the area, we can go there to track basics or even the entire project, and then record overdubs and mix in my home studio, saving money over having to record and mix everything in the expensive studio. Whatever the scope of your project, I can help you make it happen!

Do you have ProTools?
While I do not own ProTools, I frequently work with artists and producers who use ProTools. By simply consolidating or bouncing the ProTools session file, I can import your audio with all of your edits into my system. Important plugins can be bounced down so they will sound the same in the final mix. No matter what program you use to create and record your music, I can mix and master your songs.

What are your rates?
I charge $25/hour for recording. I like to work for a flat rate when mixing (per song) and mastering (per project), which varies depending on the project. This way, I can try different ideas on the mix without the artist having to worry about the clock. This also makes it easier to go back and make minor adjustments to a mix until the artist is satisfied. I do not stop working on a project until the client is happy!

How and when do I pay you?
Payment for recording is due at the end of each session. Payment for finished mixes and/or mastering is due upon completion of the final mixes. I can accept cash, check, and credit cards through Paypal.
